The Tuareg Music Band "Tinariwen" from Mali played at their concert at Bataclan in Paris with Robert Plant and Justin Adams.
"Django Project"
is a art project of Viola Schöpe in
cooperation with the music group
LOJO from Angers, France, the cultural
Foundation Angers and the "maison du
partenariat "in Bamako in Mali.
The movie was filmed, January 2010 in Bamako.
It is the result of a long-standing artists connection
where LOJO and Django Sissoko, among others,
played together, at the festival "Théâtre des Réalités"
in Bamako and at the 2nd Festival in the Desert
in Tumbuktu.
The musicians involved in the project were:
Nadia Nid el Mourid, Yamina Nid el Mourid of the music group LOJO
and musicians from Mali: Django Sissoko & Band
It also shows sensitivity in addition to the wonderful music on how people
of different religions still live peacefully together at that time.

"Last Song Before the War" is a feature-length documentary that captures
the inspiring rise and uncertain future of Mali’s annual Festival in the Desert.
Against the backdrop of stunning musical performances, the film subtly reveals
the challenges and triumphs of creating an artistic event in such challenging
economic and political circumstances. After 12 years of success and
unforgettable musical moments, the Festival in the Desert came to a stop in
2012 when separatist rebels and islamic militants seized control of Northern
Mali.
