This clay house is located in Behrungen (Thuringia) and it has been created within an overall concept including natural building methods and an innovative style.
After the two octagonal houses had been finished, I was commissioned with the artistic design for the external walls.
Inside, an integrated heating system had been installed into the clay walls, there is a clay oven, an artistically decorated wall made of rammed clay and some walls are fashioned with the Moroccan technique. The outside walls were covered with some natural rendering, and a green roof and a solar plant were integrated.
During the process, themes were chosen from a large number of first drafts in harmony with the people living in this house and with its surroundings (a kindergarten on the neighboring property).
The paint had been produced by hand, in an elaborate process using natural pigments and fixatives (water glass) and therefore it has an extraordinary brightness.
